Opened on May 25th, 2019, Whiskeyjack Boutique has designed a space where both locally-created and nationally-created gifts and souvenirs take centre stage, and visitors and Windsorites alike have the opportunity to bring home unique and beautiful Canadian-made gifts and souvenirs.
Bringing a little more Canada to downtown Windsor
As an artist, I have always aspired to create my own retail space to sell jewelry with the brand I've created. However, taking a look at our downtown area, I could see a void that needed filling and problem that needed solving - there were no quality gift shops in the core and the Canadian souvenirs were severely lacking; I'm pretty sure the only other souvenirs available are random plastic keychains most definitely not made in Canada. From this I figured we had a great opportunity to bring in some beautiful products made from across the country that were mostly not available in any other stores locally, to feature these small or established brands and show both locals and visitors what Canada truly has to offer! Knowing that the best ideas are formulated with friends, I recruited Katie Stokes of Blab Media and Sarah Fram of Fin Designs to help bring this vision to life. It has certainly been a labour of love, but the reception from the community thus far has been fantastic.
Located at 55 Maiden Lane West in Windsor, our boutique is nestled between The Squirrel Cage and Buuntz and Co. Ice Cream, Whiskeyjack Boutique helps round out the retail portion of things to do on a pedestrian-friendly thoroughfare. At the end of the block there is a fantastic all-day breakfast spot, A Dog's Breakfast, that is popular for its gourmet hot dogs and exceptional brunch options, especially during the Downtown Windsor Farmer's Market.
